Bachelor and bachelorette parties mark the transition from a single indepedent lifestyle to the commitments of married life. Bachelor and bachelorette parties have become a lot more creative in past years.
Men often attend sporting events or activities, and woman may enjoy a day at the spa relaxing and pampering themselves.
Some basic guidelines to planning a bachelor/bachelorette party are below:-
- The event is usually organised by the bridal party - be sure to consult the bride and groom with party ideas
- The bride and groom should in no circumstances pay for anything. Also be sure to plan an event that is affordable for those attending.
- If you're organising a surprise for the bride and groom, be sure to keep their wishes and personality in mind. Afterall, it is their party. For example, although everyone else in the bridal party may expect and desire a stripper, the preferences of the honoree need to be respected. Don't embarrass the bride or groom with a stripper if you really know that wouldn't amuse them.
- Anyone who is invited to the bachelor/bachelorette party should be on the guest list for the wedding.
Bachelor Party Activities
- Sporting events. Box seats at a baseball game, tickets to the local college football game, or even ringside seats at a boxing match would appeal to a group of sports fans.
- Sporting activity the group - Softball, paintball, basketball, bowling - choose the style that best fits the men on your guest list and, most important, the groom.
- Plan a roadtrip, take everyone away for a weekend of bonding on the ski slopes. Conquer the white water rapids on a rafting and camping trip. Or charter a fishing boat for the weekend.
- Plan a more traditional male get together such as a poker night hosted in someone's home or at a local hotel.
Bachelorette Party Activties
- Plan a day at a local day spa. Massages, facials, mud baths, seaweed wraps, manicures, pedicures - any of these permit plenty of time for the girls to share thoughts and laughs together.
- Take the gang out to an evening of dinner theater.
- Go out dancing.
